Why Play at BDYB?

Baseball is one of the greatest team sports.  It promises the smell of grass, the feel of the wind rushing by as you run to base, and the joy of cheering on your teammates.  At BDYB we recognize that not every baseball player will be able to play in the major league.  We do believe, however, that all players have the same chance to develop a love and understanding for the game of baseball that can be passed-down for generations.  At BDYB we believe that baseball is more than just a team sport, we believe it is a family sport.  At BDYB our primary goal is not limited to just perfecting a baseball player’s skill, it also includes providing the greatest possible atmosphere to foster the development of being a good teammate and having a successful attitude.  To effectuate this, BDYB implements a specific player development strategy that includes teaching age-appropriate skills through organized, fun, and challenging practices, open line-up batting, and, of course, plenty of family involvement!

What parents are saying about our League:

"This was our son's first experience with baseball. We could not be more thrilled with the phenomenal Pirate's coaches! Our son learned so much from them and had a great time - too. All of the parents and players on the team were very kind and friendly, The family atmosphere in this league is a breath of fresh air! We couldn't have asked for a better experience! "

"Can only speak for Coaches Martin - Bassett - and Buscemi - whom I personally observed with the children, they were amazing! Thanks for another great season with BDYB; we'll be back in the fall! "

" We could not have asked for a better coaching team with  Ward - Bauer and  Warren. We absolutely loved their commitment - knowledge - professionalism and love of the game that they shared with our kids. They connected with each child's ability and focused on improving from there. Wheather we won or lost the kids were always smiling. Fantastic experience. "

" You run a really great program and I love the focus on developing all the players"

" Enjoyed it so much...looking forward to playing again in the Fall! Already registered!"

Our Potomac Nationals Night was a huge success. The families had a wonderful time. It was a huge group this year. We were able to sit in Reserve seating which made it for a fabulous view of the field and games. It also came with a risk of Foul Balls coming our way but Thankfully we did not have any incidents. We want to Thank you all for your Support for our League. Here are some photos. You can click on them to see captions on some.
